Ricardo Alvarez is a senior student in Computer Science Department at
the University of Texas at Austin. He is from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. His greatest passions are soccer and
technology. Ricardo served as mentor and tutor for the Texas Interdisciplinary
Plan for UT. He also served as officer for the Empowering Leadership Alliance
group at UT. His research interests are Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Database
Management. Ricardo studied abroad in Stockholm, Sweden at KTH and took their
Artificial Intelligence course. He also did research in Rice University with
Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP). His research
consisted of integrating physics based simulation with motion planning
software. This summer, He will be working in Capital IQ in New York City as a
database administrator. Ricardo has attended the Richard Tapia conferences of
2007 and 2009.
