Melanie Calzada is a junior in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University. Calzada’s research interest is in air and water quality. She is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers chapter at Rice University, and will serve as its Outreach Coordinator the upcoming academic year. She is involved in leadership service projects such as Alternative Spring Break and International Service Project. Additionally, during the summer of 2009, Calzada interned with Criado & Associates Inc, a civil engineering and land surveying company in Dallas, TX.
