Dr. José Cossa is
a research associate in the School of Information at the University of Texas at
Austin. Dr. Cossa holds a Ph.D. in
Cultural and Educational Policy Studies, with a concentration in Comparative
and International Education, from Loyola University Chicago and an MA in
Ministerial Studies, with concentration in Organizational Leadership, from
Global University & Cape Theological Seminary. In his current position at the University of
Texas at Austin, Cossa serves at an evaluator
for the Empowering Leadership Alliance (ELA) and has served also as an
evaluator for African American Researchers in Computing (A4RC). In addition to work with the ELA and A4RC,
his work pertaining to broadening participation (in higher education) includes
a past consultancy for the National Center for Women & Information
Technology—Extension Services (NCWIT-ES) and the Higher Education Sector of the
World Bank.
