Shenna Shearin

My name is Shenna M. Shearin and I am a PhD candidate working under the supervision of Dr. Divi at North Carolina Agricultural &Technical State University. The basis of my research stems from the notion that we are consuming more of our natural energy resources faster than we are able to replenish them. In essence, this is contributing to the global energy crisis and as a result researchers and scientists are faced with the challenges of developing ways to produce alternative fuels like hydrogen. More specifically, I investigate the physical properties of bimetallic catalysts and their role in the generation of hydrogen through a process called Methanol Steam Reform (MSR) using Quantum Mechanical (QM) techniques such as Density Functional Theory (DFT).
