Empowering Leadership: Computing Scholars of Tomorrow Alliance

I obtained my B.S. in Chemistry from Jackson State University in May 2009.  As an undergraduate, I participated in several research programs (i.e. RISE, MARC), and also completed several summer research programs.  I started graduate school in August 2009 at University of Maryland - Baltimore County (UMBC).  I was a Bridge to the Doctorate Fellow for the first two years of graduate school, and I am also a Meyerhoff Fellow.  I am a third year graduate student in Dr. Ian Thorpe's lab.  We do Computational Chemistry. Currently, I am performing Molecular Dynamics simulations to determine the molecular origins of allostery in the RNA polymerase from the Hepatitis C Virus.
