Christan's work relates to topic modeling, Machine Learning, and natural language processing. He is a lead researcher of the Morpheus project, a question answering system that uses the "deep web" as a resource.

He interned at IBM Almaden Research Lab where he developed a prototype for the Health-e-Assistant—an engine that seeks to lay the foundation for the personalization of healthcare by providing a comprehensive and user-friendly management system.  He was awarded a 2010 NSF Graduate research fellowship in the area of Databases, Information Retrieval and Web Search.

 
Christan has a beautiful wife of almost two years and a hilarious cat named Kizzy Kinte.
