Jeremy Barksdale is a Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Doctoral Scholar pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science (with a concentration in HCI) and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA). His professional interests include: research on enhancing software usability by improving the interaction in agile usability teams through the application of socio-cognitive theory, and influencing science, technology, and innovation policy. His publications have appeared in proceedings of the IEEE Computer Society's Agile, ACM Special Interest Group on Computer Human Interaction (SIGCHI), and the ACM Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) Conferences. During his time in the PhD program, he has interned at Microsoft Research and Meridium.
Prior to entering the PhD program, he earned a B.A. in Broadcast Production with a minor in Business Administration, and an M.S. in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering from NC A&T State University. Prior work experience includes employment with the U.S. Government, Booz Allen Hamilton, and the Department of Computer Science as an adjunct faculty member at NC A&T State University.
