Victor M. Muratalla was born at a small town in Michoacán, México, where he lived and attended school for 10 years. In 2003 his family and him moved for the first time to the United States where he learned English in a year. In high school he was part of various clubs and organizations including the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and Puente programs, National Honor Society, California Scholarship Federation, Latinos Adelante Club, Chemistry Club, Spanish Club, Math Club, and also played as a mariachi violin player and singer for 6 years. After graduating from High School and becoming a first generation college student in 2010, he is currently enrolled in the Professional Development Program  (PDP) for Engineers and Scientists and the Hispanic Engineers and Scientists Club at UC Berkeley.
