Phoebe Lenear has more than 20 years of experience in the workplace as a program manager, systems developer, and a coordinator of testing, training, and integration projects. She has consulted with military personnel to integrate technology into their work environments, helped software vendors define their user requirements and meet contract specifications, and conducted and facilitated training for university faculty and staff.  Dr. Lenear holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in general engineering (mathematics and human-computer interaction), and a Ph.D. in human resource education (technology education and training and program evaluation) from UIUC.  She currently serves as the Educational Programs Manager for the Center on Emergent Behaviors of Integrated Cellular Systems (EBICS) on the UIUC campus and the Director of eMentoring for the National Science Foundation's Empowering Leadership: Computing Scholars of Tomorrow Alliance (EL Alliance).  One of her aspirationsis to establish a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) center that prepares traditionally under-represented minority middle and high school students for careers in the STEM fields.   

In addition to her career as an engineer, technology educator and program manager, Dr. Lenear loves spending time with her family and singing.
